If you like speed, go to the Bay Bottom Crawl. If your car handles well, go to the Bay Bottom Crawl. If you THINK you are a good driver, go to the Bay Bottom Crawl. But if you are wrong.....you and your car could end up "in the drink". Set on an abandoned two-lane road in the lower Keys of Florida, you are surrounded by water on both sides as you negotiate nine problem areas, all while approaching speeds in excess of 120 mph. This event is NOT for the faint of heart, so don't have any illusions of coming down for the first time and kicking ass. Some of the best autocrossers in the world come to the Bay Bottom Crawl every year and most will agree that you can not call yourself a driver until you have survived the Bay Bottom Crawl. On the other hand, if you have the "cajones", scroll down for more information on this AWESOME event.

Every year since 1993, Bluemaxx Racing has been convoying down to the Bay Bottom Crawl with friends and family. If you are interested in joining us this year year for our annual convoy down to Sugarloaf Key, FL, please send me an email at Bluemaxxracing@aol.com.  This event is by far, the most exciting autocross we participate in each year. It is a 3-mile-long, high speed autocross on a deserted island road off Sugarloaf Key, just 17 miles north of Key West, FL. What makes this event so exciting is that on the outside of the track is the Atlantic Ocean, while on the inside is a lake. Also, there are heavy mangroves located on each side of the track. Either way, if you have an off-course excursion, you and your car could be "in the drink"!! All cars and trucks are welcome to participate in the Bay Bottom Crawl, as the SCCA Solo 2 rules have classes for almost any car with any modifications. Each year, we convoy with we convoy down with friends driving all makes and models of cars. Click on the pictures below to see more.

Unfortunately, Bay Bottom Crawl is NOT a spectator event at all. There is no parking for spectator and absolutely no place to watch the entrants negotiate the course. If you are not a racer, there is still plenty to do and see in the Florida Keys though. Key West is only 17 miles from the Bay Bottom Crawl site. To see more on what there is to do in the Florida Keys, click HERE!!!

The entry fee for the entire weekend is $125 and includes a Friday BBQ and a Saturday Banquet for in Key West. The following list is highly suggested in order for you to be comfortable down there.
